Short engineering notes on how the systems — and this site — are put together. The measurements are left in.
- 01 Bloom, measured at zero A full bloom pass — framebuffer, bright-pass, separable blur — was built here and then removed, because measurement said it did nothing.
- 02 One world, no scene graph Every route is the same 5,200 points in a different arrangement. Navigation interpolates; nothing is built or destroyed. The renderer was 4.1 KB gzipped.
- 03 The fallback font is matched on width, not x-height The published recipe for a metric-matched fallback made the headline 55px narrower than the real face. Plain Arial was only 16px off.
